This wonderfully preserved Project G is in pristine condition having been well maintained by its original owner for 40 years. The lighter tone of this Project G is in keeping with Clairtone's decision to make the Brazilian rosewood exterior of the second run of the Project G "less red" with the introduction and retrofit of the T10 amplifier.
The 'Alberta' Project G - Number 6 / ~100 T4's
The 'Alberta' Project G is a stunning early example of the Project G - in fact the lowest issue number in the collection being the 6th unit out of Clairtone's Rexdale, Ontario factory in 1964. It has the rarer T4 amplifier and superior Elac turntable inside with the distinctive vertical layout. Quite simply, a superior unit in every respect which has been kept in remarkable original condition.
The 'Found' Project G - Number 25 / ~100 T4's
The 'Found' Project G is also a low issue number of the rare T4 Project G range. It was found in Ottawa and needed some restoration work. It has a stunning rosewood grain it is currently being restored and like previous restorations it will be in showroom condition once completed.
The 'Florida' Project G- Number 9 / ~100 T4's
The 'Florida' Project G is again a very low issue number and boasts dramatic rosewood grain figuring. This unit is in 100% orginal condition with the only minor damage being a small amount of rippling of the tambour top slats. Rather than replace these slats with non-original material the damage was repaired and the rosewood kept original. A beautiful Project G.
The 'Val d'Or' G2 - T10
The 'Val d'Or' G2 is a beautiful, all original unit that was featured in the Design Exchange's show The Art of Clairtone in 2008. It features the original T10 amplifier and Garrard Lab 80 turntable. Like all early G2's, the Val d'Or features full, single panel wrap of pre-ban Brazilian palisander (rosewood).
The 'New Jersey' G2 - T10
The 'New Jersey' G2 is quite possibly one of the earliest G2's ever. As the G2's weren't numbered like the Project G's it is difficult to assess when it was issued. This unit was an early store demo prior to the stereo's official launch and fter its use as a demo unit it was purchased by one of the store employees. Fully working and all original it is a marvelous and unique unit.
